From my front porch

From my front porch

I have a view of three

Enormous palm trees,

At constant pliable attention;

Of equal height and

Dangerously slender girth,

They stand and sway

Ten stories at least;

Three exclamation points

Of delicate aspiration,

Opposing suburban stain,

Waiting for me to punctuate

My own aspirational stance,

However delicate or bold.
